Frictionless Commerce and its Customers Go Live with Internap Hosting Facility; CDN, Colocation and Data Center Services Provide Secure, High-performance and Scalable Infrastructure
Business Wire, August 11, 2005
ATLANTA -- Internap(R) Network Services Corporation (AMEX: IIP), a leading provider of performance-based routing technology over the Internet, announced today the availability of Frictionless Commerce's applications hosted at the Internap data center in Boston. Numerous customers of the Frictionless SRM software product suite are now live in this facility.
Frictionless, a leading provider of Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) software, established the new facility to fulfill the hosting requirements of its growing number of clients. Customers of Frictionless SRM are deploying to a worldwide user-base, supporting strategic initiatives such as global sourcing and enterprise-wide procurement excellence.
Internap was chosen for its market leadership in intelligent route-control technology, which provides a suite of high-performance IP solutions. The facility's sophisticated infrastructure enables enterprises to deploy business-critical applications securely and seamlessly over the Web. Internap monitors the Internet, measuring network latency and packet loss over the major carriers and automatically adjusts Frictionless' traffic to the optimal path. In turn, Frictionless' customers can execute SRM applications such as live reverse auctions and contract negotiations with 24x7 availability.
"Customer success is our primary objective," said Wayne Haubner, chief technology officer, Frictionless Commerce. "Managed hosting provides our customers with the benefits of a secure, reliable and scalable foundation without the associated investment in infrastructure and strain on internal IT resources. Through this offering with Internap, our hosted customers are able to enhance their software investment."
The hosting facility provides customers with secure and scalable state-of-the-art facilities. Customer data is safeguarded through a complete security program that includes around-the-clock management and monitoring, real-time security intelligence, and a 24x7 staff of security professionals. In addition, each customer is deployed on dedicated instance of the Frictionless software with partitioned database schemas, so that data is not co-mingled.
"We're pleased that Frictionless trusts Internap to provide access to secure network connectivity for their mission-critical applications," said Dave Abrahamson, executive vice president of global sales, Internap. "Typically, Internet routing defaults to the shortest path--without taking congestion or network failures into account. Our unique network-based route optimization analyzes traffic on every major Internet backbone, so our customers benefit from selection of the fastest, most reliable path available."
In addition to colocation and connectivity, Internap provides Content Delivery Network (CDN) and security services through strategic partnerships with Akamai and VeriSign respectively. Akamai services extend the effective reach of Frictionless services and help them serve their growing global customer base, while VeriSign security services complement the physical security of the data center and help protect the Frictionless network. This combination of best-in-class technologies enables the company's mission of delivering the most complete and flexible suite of modules available.
