Adams Selects Sandvine Traffic Management To Protect Subscriber Applications And Network Integrity
Business Wire, August 2, 2005
WATERLOO, Ontario & GOLDEN, Ill. -- Sandvine Incorporated, the world leader in intelligent broadband network management, today announced that Adams NetWorks, Inc., has selected Sandvine to manage broadband traffic and protect the subscriber experience on its DSL and fixed wireless broadband network.
New applications, new content, and new threats to broadband service provider networks means operators need to take control of their network and ensure resources are fairly allocated among subscribers and applications.
Malicious traffic such as worms, spam Trojans, DoS and DNS attack traffic compete for bandwidth with subscribers' valuable applications. P2P file sharing continues to consume up to 60% of traffic on broadband networks, while new applications like VoIP and gaming are placing additional demands on network operators to ensure optimal network performance for these latency and jitter-sensitive applications.
Illinois-based, Adams NetWorks, Inc. has selected Sandvine to address these traffic issues to protect the integrity of its network and ensure subscriber quality of experience (QoE).
"Sandvine's intelligent broadband management solution gives us visibility into our network and allows us to protect subscriber applications against malicious traffic and ensure subscriber satisfaction," said Mike Ridder, director of competitive services for Adams NetWorks, Inc.
"Broadband service providers need intelligence in their network to identify and protect subscriber applications," said Tom Donnelly, Sandvine executive vice president, marketing and sales. "Sandvine is pleased to add Adams to our customer portfolio and support Adams' mission to provide their subscribers with a high quality of experience."
