About Boost Mobile Pro of Surf

The Boost Mobile Pro presented by Quiksilver is the eighth leg of the 11-round Foster's Men's World Tour and the only World Championship Tour (WCT) event on the U.S. mainland. The WCT decides the annual World surfing champion. Following WCT events in the best wave locations throughout the world, the fourth annual Boost Mobile Pro of Surf is the only opportunity for spectators to see the world's top 45 pro surfers, plus 11 trialist contestants, compete on the U.S. mainland for $270,000 in prize money.

About the 2005 Foster's Men's World Tour

The world's best surfers travel the globe competing at premier wave locations to determine the World Champion. The 2005 Foster's Men's World Tour began in Australia at the Quiksilver Pro on the Gold Coast and Bells Beach, moved onto treacherous Teahupoo in Tahiti, Tavarua in Fiji, Reunion Island, and Jeffrey's Bay. Just one more event, the Quiksilver Pro in Chiba, Japan, occurs before the tour to Trestles, Calif. As the eighth of 11 events on this year's Foster's Men's World Tour, the Boost Mobile Pro serves as a critical point in the 2005 race for the illustrious world title. After the Boost Mobile Pro, the tour will then travel to France, Brazil and finish on Hawaii's North Shore. Presently six-time World Champion and Boost Team Rider Kelly Slater leads the ratings.
