University at Buffalo's Research Institute on Addictions Uses SPSS to Improve Survey Research Process

CHICAGO -- SPSS (NASDAQ:SPSS), a worldwide leader of predictive analytics software, today announced that the Research Institute on Addictions (RIA) at the University at Buffalo, State University of New York is using SPSS to improve survey research. SPSS has enabled RIA to increase the volume and quality of survey research projects it can process and to report reliable results more quickly.

RIA has been a leader in the study of addictions since 1970 and a research center of SUNY-Buffalo since 1999. Supported by multi-year federal and private foundation grants, RIA studies the etiology and effects of addictions to alcohol, drugs and gambling.

RIA found that the software it was using to collect and process survey research had numerous limitations, including the inability to integrate with its home-grown information systems.
