Amp'd Mobile Signs Exclusive Deal with William Morris Agency for Strategic Partnerships, Marketing and Wireless Content Deals
Business Wire, August 23, 2005
LOS ANGELES -- Amp'd Mobile, the first mobile entertainment company created specifically to bring next-generation broadband wireless to 18-to-35-year-olds, announced today that it has signed a mutually exclusive agreement with the William Morris Agency (WMA) to secure strategic and marketing partnerships as well as content deals in entertainment, music, sports, lifestyle and literary, among others, for the wireless company.
Amp'd is working with WMA's Corporate Consulting Group to help shape and implement their content strategy. To date, WMA has been instrumental in developing marketing partnerships and securing content deals with studios, networks, music labels, artists, sports leagues, internet portals and advertisers. This includes licensing content and modifying it for the Amp'd Live platform and working with the creative community to develop original material that would enhance the Amp'd experience.
Amp'd Mobile will be bringing an entirely new wireless entertainment experience to the next-generation (3G) broadband wireless services and applications. With its proprietary user interface, subscribers will be able to access a wide range of music, sports, games, lifestyle and entertainment content through "Amp'd Live." The company has announced deals with Universal Music Group, Snoop Dogg, THQ, Moderati, PRIMEDIA and more. Additional content deals will be announced as the company nears its launch this winter.
"Partnering with a powerhouse agency like WMA will help round out our strategic partnerships and content offerings with the leading brands and talent that appeal to our core demographic," said Peter Adderton, CEO, Amp'd Mobile. "Their team gets our entertainment mobile approach to the youth market and they have the relationships to get deals done quickly. I'm also thrilled to have a long-term partner in WMA and to have them representing Amp'd Mobile exclusively in the wireless industry."
"Our division strives to work with entertainment-minded technology clients like Amp'd Mobile," said Paul Bricault, senior vice president, William Morris Agency. "The relationship thrives when the client is actively engaged in working toward the goals and vision of the partnership. Our team interacts with the Amp'd team on a day-to-day basis and as a result, we believe that the Amp'd Live content catalog and marketing partnerships will be unequaled in wireless."
