Gomez Integrates WorldView with HP OpenView Internet Services; Becomes HP Platinum Business Partner; Alliance Represents Next Generation in Automated Problem Management by Reducing Cost and Complexity
Business Wire, August 29, 2005
LEXINGTON, Mass. -- Gomez(R), Inc., a leading Internet performance management intelligence company, today announced the immediate availability of Gomez WorldView for HP OpenView Internet Services. The integration of Gomez WorldView with HP OpenView Internet Services 6.0 is designed to reduce the cost and complexity of problem management by automating previously manual tasks within a single management framework.
Gomez also announced that it has joined the HP partnership program as a Platinum Business Partner and has successfully completed certification testing, for its HP OpenView Internet Services integration. The integration marks the first certified HP OpenView Internet Services Smartlink Integration.
"Using Gomez WorldView for HP OpenView Internet Services, IT groups can now bring a comprehensive view of end user performance and the application infrastructure together in a single management console," said Bruce Reading, COO of Gomez. "These teams look to HP and Gomez to help them troubleshoot application problems as quickly as possible, whether they originate inside the firewall or halfway across the globe."
The Gomez WorldView integration links the Gomez Performance Network (GPN) and HP OpenView through the new Troubleshooting Insight Packages (TIPs) offered with HP OpenView Internet Services 6.0. The integration provides a single management framework that is intended to allow IT staff to more efficiently identify, confirm and resolve critical application performance problems whether they originate inside or outside the firewall. The integrated application is available immediately and is already in production at Yahoo! Search Marketing.
IT staff are under tremendous pressure to meet contracted service level objectives and control operational costs. Previously, IT staff would have to rely on multiple monitoring solutions to confirm and diagnose application performance. With the integration of these best of breed solutions, customers can create TIPs that automatically execute application tests from GPN network locations around the world. This external performance data is stored and presented within the centralized HP OpenView Internet Services console to allow IT staff to immediately assess the impact to the end-user and isolate the bottleneck whenever service level commitments fall below target thresholds.
"HP is excited to be working with Gomez to help customers streamline their problem management processes and speed resolution times," said Yale Tankus, vice president of Partnerships and Alliances, Management Software Business, HP. "Gomez WorldView for HP OpenView Internet Services allows all diagnostic data to be brought together in one place, eliminating the need for IT staff to move outside of the HP OpenView dashboard to troubleshoot and resolve slowdowns. The integration is a valuable complement to the HP OpenView application management solutions portfolio."
