Tenebril Releases First Anti-Spyware Solution with Enterprise-Class Protection, Manageability and Scalability; SpyCatcher Enterprise Provides Unique Defense against Next-Generation Spyware Including Hyper-Mutating and Custom-Coded Spyware
Business Wire, August 29, 2005
SAN MATEO, Calif. -- Tenebril(TM) Inc., a security technology leader, today announced general availability of SpyCatcher(TM) Enterprise, the first and only spyware solution that protects enterprise computers from the most insidious category of evasive threats -- hyper-mutating and custom-coded spyware. SpyCatcher Enterprise delivers the fastest, safest and most complete removal of spyware while offering enterprise-class manageability, scalability and performance.
SpyCatcher Enterprise provides continuous, proactive protection using the patent-pending Tenebril Spyware Profiling(TM) Engine. This new, sophisticated approach to combating spyware goes beyond traditional signature and behavior-based solutions by incorporating contextual analysis, resulting in the industry's fastest, most powerful and comprehensive spyware detection and prevention.
"Companies face significant costs from spyware including corporate espionage, theft of employee or customer information and the significant time spent remediating spyware infestations," said Chris Christiansen, VP of Security Products & Services at IDC. "Solutions such as the new Tenebril SpyCatcher Enterprise give enterprises scalable anti-spyware protection combined with centralized management to help reduce the risk and costs associated with spyware."
SpyCatcher Enterprise detects the widest range of spyware, including hyper-mutating and custom-coded spyware, even when embedded deeply in the operating system. Examples of hyper-mutating spyware -- spyware that changes rapidly in the wild to elude traditional signature and behavior-based anti-spyware solutions -- have exploded, increasing almost three-fold since January 2005, according to company research.
Enterprise Ready
Offering a Web-based management console for "anytime, anywhere" access to central management capabilities and a highly-scalable design, SpyCatcher Enterprise provides enterprise-class management capabilities for the largest organizations. SpyCatcher Enterprise provides its protection and remediation transparently to end users and integrates seamlessly with leading user directories, such as Active Directory, easing enterprise-wide deployment.
Superior Protection and Remediation
In addition to providing the best defense against spyware and custom-coded attacks, SpyCatcher Enterprise provides the safest and most efficient remediation. With its ability to recover even highly-infected PCs, SpyCatcher Enterprise automates and simplifies the removal process and prevents computers from being inadvertently compromised.
"Malcode creators are smart and highly-motivated with impressive arsenals of tools and techniques that they use to create highly-sophisticated, evasive threats that escape detection by traditional security technologies," said Irfan Salim, CEO of Tenebril. "A multi-layered security architecture incorporating a best-of-breed anti-spyware solution that goes beyond signatures and behavior-based blocking techniques is crucial in addressing the growing threats associated with next generation spyware and evasive threats."
Pricing and Availability
SpyCatcher Enterprise is available immediately from the direct sales force at Tenebril as well as Tenebril Authorized Resellers. Pricing begins at $25 per seat and volume discounts are available.
The SpyCatcher Enterprise server supports Windows 2000, 2003 or XP while SpyCatcher Enterprise clients run on PCs equipped with Windows 2000 or higher.
