The Executive Women's Forum Selects Consul CTO Kristin Lovejoy as Finalist for Women of Influence Award; Praises Lovejoy as Security Industry Leader Alongside Top Executives from Symantec and Sun
Business Wire, August 30, 2005
HERNDON, Va. -- Consul risk management, a renowned expert in enterprise security audit and compliance solutions, today announced that CTO Kristin Gallina Lovejoy is a finalist for the "Women of Influence" Award in the Private Solutions Provider category. The winner will be named during a ceremony at the third Annual Executive Women's Forum, September 14-16, in Phoenix, AZ. Ms. Lovejoy is an expert in defining security audit and compliance solutions and in driving the implementation of auditing as a required first step to achieving and maintaining a successful compliance program within an operational risk management framework.
The awards recognize four women leaders for their accomplishments in the fields of information security, risk management and privacy. Award finalists were selected by a panel of judges from nominations submitted by the nominee's peers. In its second year, the awards are co-presented by Alta Associates, the industry's leading executive recruitment firm and producer of the Executive Women's Forum (EWF), and CSO magazine (www.csoonline.com), the preeminent resource for security executives.
"The Women of Influence Awards recognize the powerful contribution women make in their respective fields and acknowledge the thought leaders among them," said Joyce Brocaglia, founder of the Executive Women's Forum and president and CEO of Alta Associates.
"The EWF provides a venue for the extraordinary women executives in the security, risk management and privacy fields to network and showcase their expertise," said CSO magazine Publisher Bob Bragdon. "These awards spotlight the extraordinary women security executives among us who are making a mark in the security world by exercising creativity and innovation to solve problems or overcome challenges."
The "Women of Influence" Awards honor one woman from each of the following four categories: security practitioner from Government or Academia, a Private Solutions Provider from the security industry, a Corporate Practitioner from the private sector, and finally, a One to Watch in the security field.
"This is an outstanding accomplishment and right on the heels of the InfoWorld's CTO 25 Award. Time and again, Kris has shown her leadership skills both inside and outside of the organization. She is a positive influence on the professional community and constantly demonstrates her commitment to the highest ethical standards," said Joe Sander, CEO and president of Consul. "As CTO, Kris successfully repositioned the company's product offerings within the audit and compliance market, increasing revenue growth within the core product line by 286 percent."
"By changing industry mindset with her operational risk management (ORM) vision, Kris is creating an environment where all personnel manage operational risk, and all strategic objectives are completed at the least possible cost to the organization. Through the ORM process companies will turn information security into a business enabler instead of a cash drain," added Sander.
