ExxonMobil Commits $2 Million for Disaster Relief Efforts in Aftermath of Hurricane Katrina

IRVING, Texas -- Exxon Mobil Corporation (NYSE:XOM) today announced that it is contributing $2 million to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund to assist relief efforts arising from Hurricane Katrina. The Disaster Relief Fund provides food, shelter, counseling and other assistance to the victims of this disaster and thousands of other disasters across the country each year.

"This immediate assistance will support relief efforts in the most impacted areas. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and loved ones of those impacted by this and with the survivors as they begin putting their lives back in order," said Lee Raymond, chairman and CEO of Exxon Mobil Corporation.

"Thanks to ExxonMobil's extremely generous gift, the Red Cross is working to meet the challenge of the largest single natural disaster response in our history," said Marsha J. Evans, President and CEO of the American Red Cross. "Their gift will touch the lives of thousands in the coming weeks and months."

In addition to the financial support, ExxonMobil is providing in-kind fuels and lubricants to government emergency responders.
