PepsiAmericas Pledges $500,000 in Funding and Drinking Water for Hurricane Katrina Relief Efforts

MINNEAPOLIS -- PepsiAmericas, Inc. (NYSE:PAS) announced today that it will contribute $500,000 in financial aid and water to communities that fell victim to Hurricane Katrina. Additionally, the beverage bottler has pledged financial support to assist employees as the extent of their need becomes known.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with all of the victims who are struggling through the devastating effects of this storm," said Robert Pohlad, chairman and chief executive officer. "With more than 500 employees directly affected by this disaster, we see our donation as our way of beginning to help family, friends and neighbors."
PepsiAmericas will be coordinating with national and local relief agencies to distribute the funds and water to those in need.
PepsiAmericas is the second-largest Pepsi bottler with operations in 19 states, Central Europe including Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic, the Republic of Slovakia, and Romania, and the Caribbean including, Puerto Rico, Jamaica, the Bahamas, Barbados and Trinidad and Tobago.
