Valley Presbyterian Hospital Selects Broadlane for Strategic Sourcing and Procurement Services

Business Wire, August 4, 2005

DALLAS -- Broadlane, the group procurement services company for healthcare, today announced that Valley Presbyterian Hospital, the largest acute care hospital in Southern California's central San Fernando Valley, has signed an exclusive five-year agreement with Broadlane for strategic sourcing and procurement services.

Valley Presbyterian Hospital, a 380-bed facility, spends approximately $20 million annually for supplies.

"Broadlane provides the superior customer service and technology that we feel is necessary in order to realize deeper supply chain savings," said Tracey Talley, chief financial officer at Valley Presbyterian Hospital. "Broadlane is the only company that we know of in the healthcare market that can offer our organization a complete suite of services that address the entire supply chain, in addition to lowering the cost of contracted supplies."

In addition to being able to access best pricing and technology, the agreement with Broadlane offers Valley Presbyterian Hospital a level of contract implementation assistance that is virtually unheard of in the industry. This includes:

--Detailed implementation plan

--Product evaluation and standardization consultation

--Help with product conversions where required

--Utilization analysis

--Hands-on assistance as needed from dedicated customer service personnel

"Valley Presbyterian Hospital will be able to take full advantage of the savings that were recently validated by an in-depth cost analysis," said Jim Webb, Broadlane's senior vice president of sales. "Broadlane will not only offer contracts with low prices, but we will play a strategic role in solving Valley Presbyterian's supply chain issues by addressing the full supply chain spectrum, with superior customer service."
