Business Wire, August 4, 2005
MINNEAPOLIS -- Video Guidance, the leading video, voice, streaming, and web conferencing services provider has been selected as the primary equipment source for Minnesota Tele-Media's "Electronic Learning Commons" project. The project is funded by the Rural Utilities Service's Distance Learning and Telemedicine (DLT) program. "Video Guidance is not only pleased to be the vendor of choice, but proud to be a part of Minnesota Tele-Media's continued efforts to develop and increase its service area's educational system," stated President of Video Guidance, Michael Werch.
Minnesota Tele-Media is a consortium that provides research, planning, funding assistance, implementation and organization of telecommunications and distance learning services for educational institutions in southwestern and west central Minnesota. The "Electronic Learning Commons" project is designed to enhance the region's educational services infrastructure and provide a wide array of technological tools. Forty-one (41) K-12 school districts and several higher education institutions and adult basic education centers will benefit. With DLT grant funds, Minnesota Tele-Media will increase curriculum options for the region's K-12 students, offer more professional development opportunities for teachers and staff, and provide more access to post-secondary and adult basic education programming.
