LogicLibrary and MetaMatrix Announce Strategic Partnership; Integrated Solutions to Combine Management of Data and Software Development Assets to Produce More Efficient Application Development for Service-Oriented Architectures

Business Wire, August 8, 2005

PITTSBURGH -- LogicLibrary(R), the leading provider of software development asset management tools, and MetaMatrix, the market-leader for Enterprise Information Integration (EII) products, today announced a strategic partnership that could re-define the software metadata market. The companies' combined data integration and software development asset (SDA) management solutions will enable joint customers to realize aggressive return-on-investment (ROI) on integration, development and service-oriented architecture (SOA) projects.

LogicLibrary's flagship product Logidex manages software development assets such as components, patterns and Web services, which use a variety of data elements. MetaMatrix solutions provide access to diverse data sources regardless of source or storage format, transforming volumes of complex data into actionable information. The integration of these products will allow a developer or architect to discover a potentially useful asset in Logidex and then bridge over to MetaMatrix to accurately understand how the data elements in that asset are related to the enterprise's architectural needs. This unprecedented ability to simultaneously control both data and software development assets will result in more agile and efficient application development.

"The combined expertise of LogicLibrary and MetaMatrix delivers powerful end-to-end asset discovery and reusability," said Craig Muzilla, Senior VP of Marketing, MetaMatrix. "Combining software development assets with the data they rely on adds significant value for joint customers. They will experience simplified software development, increased flexibility and faster time-to-market."

The integration of Logidex and MetaMatrix products will give application developers support for any data source and type, leading to increased control over an organization's software assets and the ability for joint customers to transform volumes of complex data into actionable information as they embark on their software development and SOA initiatives.

"Combining LogicLibrary's federated metadata approach and SOA library offering with MetaMatrix's superior data integration capabilities gives developers unprecedented control over the reuse and management of development and data assets," said Greg Coticchia, CEO of LogicLibrary. "Reusable components enable rapid development of new applications and are a major benefit of emerging service-oriented architectures. This partnership between LogicLibrary and MetaMatrix will improve efficiency and ROI for business and government organizations."
