Ingersoll Rand to Acquire Majority Interest in Shenzhen Bocom System Engineering Co. Ltd., a China-based Provider of Integrated Security Technologies and Services

HAMILTON, Bermuda -- Ingersoll-Rand Company Limited (NYSE:IR), a leading diversified industrial firm, today announced the signing of a definitive agreement to acquire an 80 percent share of Shenzen Bocom System Engineering Co. Ltd., a China-based provider of security-systems integration technologies and services. The acquisition, which is subject to customary regulatory approvals, is expected to close in the near future. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Headquartered in Shenzen, with branch offices in Beijing and Shanghai, Bocom System is the largest independent security-systems integration company in China. The business supplies security-systems design, engineering, installation and integration, including expertise in video monitoring solutions for city and highway traffic, airports, government buildings and general surveillance.
"Bocom System continues the development of Ingersoll Rand's global security-systems portfolio, providing technologies, expertise, and related integration services while expanding our capabilities in a large and growing market," said Herbert L. The business will operate as part of the Integrated Systems Solutions business of Ingersoll Rand's Security Technologies Sector, a leading global provider of products and services that make environments safe, secure and productive. The sector's market-leading products include electronic and biometric access control systems; time and attendance and personnel scheduling systems; mechanical locks and portable security; door closers and exit devices; steel doors and frames; architectural hardware; and technologies and services for global security markets.
