The study captured responses from line-of-business and IT professionals and was conducted through partnership with CMP United Business Media and Intelligent Enterprise; Source Media's BI Review, DM Review and datawarehouse.com; Montgomery Research; and BusinessIntelligence.com. Ventana Research will reveal interesting key insights and best practices learned from the Operational BI Applications research study, including:

--62 percent of the respondents found the operational BI applications to be very valuable or extremely valuable.

--3 times as many respondents (45%) said they would be buying more vendor-provided BI applications than said they would not (15%).

--39 percent of the respondents stated that these applications improved IT's ability to serve user needs.
