PowerCold® Plastic Products Expand to Mexico; DuPont™ Caltrel® Plastic Tubing Major Component of Energy Savings and Water Conservation
Business Wire, Dec 13, 2005
SAN ANTONIO -- PowerCold Corporation (OTCBB:PWCL) reported today the Company has expanded sales operations in Mexico. Grupo Termo Control, Monterrey, Mexico recently installed PowerCold's Nauticon(R) Fluid Coolers and Evaporative Condensers at the Galerias Monterrey Shopping Center in Monterrey.
The Galerias Monterrey Shopping Center building owner required an energy efficient system at a reasonable price, and the project expansion required a great HVAC design challenge. The Galerias's new stores expansion required a 340 ton chilled water system design that was independent from the main 2,000 ton central chiller. The new system was designed using PowerCold products based on their low kw/ton cost and low water consumption. PowerCold's PlexCoil(R), a newly developed heat transfer coil using DuPont(TM) Caltrel(R) engineered polymer materials, was used in the Fluid Coolers.
Victor Torres, Managing Director of Grupo Termo Control commented, "We chose PowerCold's WDFC Fluid Coolers for the project instead of open cooling towers. The WDFC's design using advance technology plastics makes possible running the units dry in cooler weather resulting in water savings up to 70%. The Galerias' team is so pleased that now we started on a new project of replacing 1,000 tons of air cooled condensers with PowerCold's evaporative condensers to save 40% electrical costs."
PowerCold Corporation designs, develops and markets unique HVAC products and systems for commercial and industrial use. PowerCold's proprietary energy efficient products are designed to provide a clean comfort air environment and significantly reduce power costs by up to 50% for air conditioning, refrigeration and on-site building power.
