Business Wire, Dec 13, 2005
SAN FRANCISCO -- SANRAD Incorporated, a leader in developing and delivering intelligent iSCSI SAN solutions, today announced that it has entered into an agreement with Silicon Graphics Inc. (OTC:SGID) that enables SGI Professional Services to resell the full line of SANRAD IP SAN solutions, giving SGI the most comprehensive and flexible SAN solution portfolio of any major storage supplier. SANRAD is SGI's only partner to offer an iSCSI SAN switch.
SGI Professional Services will use SANRAD products to develop solutions designed to help enterprise customers leverage SGI(R) InfiniteStorage Solutions into integrated Fibre Channel/iSCSI SAN storage networks, extending the reach of managed storage throughout the enterprise. This blended approach gives SGI the ability to improve backup, data replication, security, disaster recovery, storage allocation and provisioning by attaching large numbers of IP connected servers to new or existing FC SANs.
"The challenges that we are able to overcome in designing solutions for customers are lessened when we are able to incorporate leading technologies from a multitude of vendors that believe as we do in true interoperability," said Rich McKay of SGI Professional Services. "We pride ourselves in SGI's ability to manage, store and deliver data over a variety of networks and we are better positioned to meet these challenges with the addition of SANRAD's line of iSCSI SAN solutions available for resell to our enterprise customers.
"The integration of interoperable network technologies with our high-performance server, visualization solutions and storage product lines allows us to offer maximum value while minimizing management hassles to companies who are looking for a single solution to manage their data protection needs," added McKay. "SANRAD's V-Switch enables us to provide highly scalable and accessible storage solutions without the limitations of traditional Fibre Channel devices."
"We are pleased to reach an agreement with SGI where they will be able to offer our full line of iSCSI SAN solutions to their customers," said Uli Gal-oz, SANRAD CEO. "By offering a joint solution of their InfiniteStorage products with our V-Switch, our companies are better positioned to provide customers with a simplified and cost-effective way to protect the growing amounts of data produced by enterprises each year."
