Lithium Technologies and Mary Furlong & Associates join to sponsor White House Conference on Aging's Interactive Blog Center Web site at www.WHCoA.net
Business Wire, Dec 13, 2005
WASHINGTON -- Lithium Technologies, Inc., the leading provider of on-demand customer interaction channels, and Mary Furlong & Associates (MFA), a company that helps companies understand the real needs of the growing boomer and senior market, have joined forces to provide an interactive blogging Web site for the White House Conference on Aging (WHCoA).
The Web site will provide minute-by-minute coverage of the activities of the three-day event. More than a dozen delegates will have blogs on the site in areas of their expertise, including health care, financial security and volunteerism. Conference speakers and legislators will be available for live chats. Also, delegates from all 50 states will be posting their thoughts and reflections on the key issues being debated at the conference. The Web site, www.WHCoA.net, is available to the public.
"This is the first White House Conference on Aging that has created an online community among the delegates and participants using interactive tools and social software," said Mary Furlong, founder of SeniorNet.org, ThirdAge Media and MaryFurlong.com.
According to the Honorable Dorcas Hardy, Chairperson of the White House Conference on Aging, "the future of the boomers and seniors will certainly include new virtual interaction technologies."
"We believe www.WHCoA.net will foster a deeper understanding of the issues being debated at the conference," said Ms. Furlong. "It will also allow the delegates to interact with each other more effectively. Citizens can also participate by visiting the Web site."
"Boomers and seniors' needs for richer online interactions are growing rapidly," said Michel G. Thouati, CEO of Lithium Technologies. "The current crop of boomers and seniors are highly computer literate. The first delegate to blog was 90-year-old Ruby Lee Norris from Virginia." He continued, "WHCoA.net hopes to demonstrate how technology can transform more than 70 million boomers and seniors into an online community with a common purpose."
