Citrix Upgrades Citrix Access Suite to Set New Benchmarks for Security and Performance; Latest Application Delivery and Access Technologies Integrated into Flagship Access Suite 4.2
Business Wire, Dec 14, 2005
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- Citrix Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:CTXS), the global leader in access infrastructure solutions, today announced the general availability of the newest release of Citrix Access Suite(TM), a comprehensive information access solution which includes updated versions of Citrix Presentation Server(TM), Citrix Password Manager(TM) and Citrix Access Gateway(TM), an SSL VPN appliance. The Access Suite now includes 64-bit support for application virtualization in Presentation Server, and Advanced Access Control which helps IT departments increase control over user action and access rights at a granular level.
Major innovations in the latest version of the Access Suite center on security and performance enhancements. Citrix's Access Gateway with Advanced Access Control offers IT departments an unprecedented level of control over employee access to corporate applications, data and other network resources based on a user's work environment, computing device, location and role in the organization. IT departments can define exactly how employees are able to interact with resources, and automatically reconfigure settings as employees roam among diverse devices and networks.
With Access Suite 4.2, Citrix triples the number of users who can access virtualized applications on each server. Citrix Presentation Server 4.0 for Microsoft(R) Windows Server(TM) 2003 x64 Edition provides significant cost savings by offering broad support for extended 64-bit server architectures, producing huge gains in scalability, user density and overall performance compared to today's 32-bit systems. In addition, the latest version of Presentation Server x64 is designed to offer customers a flexible migration path to smoothly transition from 32-bit to 64-bit computing environments.
Citrix Password Manager 4.2 extends the capabilities of the Access Suite with new features that streamline access to password controlled applications to improve enterprise security and regulatory compliance, and power superior user productivity when accessing sensitive corporate information through different applications.
"In building and delivering our flagship suite for 160,000 enterprise customers around the world, Citrix's single goal is to deliver on-demand access to any business information resource - from anywhere, with any device, over any network," said Scott Herren, group vice president and general manager at Citrix. "Access Suite 4.2 brings together the most innovative technologies, based on the latest feedback from customers, to offer what is truly the best access experience to any business."
