Apptis Wins $8.2 Million FAA Contracts for Web-Based Safety System, Software

CHANTILLY, Va. -- Apptis, Inc. announced it has been awarded an initial task order for the first phase of a multi-phase program with the Federal Aviation Administration to design and develop a web enabled business operations safety system and to design a software system for air carrier certification.
The total contract value of the FAA Web Based Operational Safety System (WEBOPSS) is anticipated to be $3.8M over the life of the two year effort. The program objectives are to design, develop and implement a web-enabled business operations safety system.
Apptis, along with partner TATI, will assist the FAA in building this web-based aviation safety system, as well as assist in implementing a new Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), to further streamline the FAA's air carrier certification processes.
The FAA WEBOPSS will serve more than 5,000 agency users and several thousand industry users, including air carriers, repair stations, training centers, pilot schools, rotocraft operations, and fractional ownership operators.
Apptis also won a $400,000 task order for the design phase of an estimated multi-phase $3.5M software systems engineering effort for the FAA. Apptis, and partner TATI, will assist the FAA in developing a web-based aviation safety system and new service oriented architecture (SOA) for their air carrier certification processes.
