Business Wire, Dec 19, 2005
WALTHAM, Mass. -- Information Mapping, Inc. (IMI), the leading provider of Information Lifecycle Solutions, today announced the availability of Formatting Solutions Pro version 3.0, its software companion to the Information Mapping method. Combined with the structured document concepts contained in the Information Mapping method, Formatting Solutions Pro helps increase user productivity by using pre-programmed styles and automation to take the work out of creating complex document formats and tables.
Formatting Solutions Pro is designed for use by individuals who have completed an Information Mapping seminar, helping them apply standardized Information Mapping formatting to all of their documents by creating content in the software's Microsoft(R) Word-based interface. Through the use of the Information Mapping format, writers and editors will reap the benefits of creating and using easy-to-read, well-structured documents - whether created by individuals or multiple teams. In addition, Formatting Solutions Pro provides easy conversion of Microsoft Word documents into XML or HTML without the need for tagging.
New features included in Formatting Solutions Pro 3.0 include: a new Quickstart Toolbar; customizable tables and fonts; table numbering and insert graphic functionality; additional style sheets for Web formats; streamlined functions for continuing titles on new pages; an updated tutorial; and the ability to save documents in XML format.
"More than three quarters of Information Mapping practitioners use Formatting Solutions Pro to author content. With this large and varied set of users in mind, we've added a number of features that will provide improved flexibility and usability without compromising the ability to maintain consistency across many different documents and authors," said Deborah Kenny, IMI's Vice President and General Manager of Learning Solutions.
