"RealNet has been a critical partner in the success of the Bluesocket Access Point program," said Jim Finucane, Sr VP of Engineering at Bluesocket. "Working with the team at RealNet has allowed us to achieve a WiFi Alliance Certified Access Point in record time."
Bluesocket is leveraging the development efforts of RealNet as well as their breakthrough Virtual Access Point technology. This technology allows for the automatic assignment of SSIDs for each virtual AP, unique VLAN assignment for each virtual AP and isolation of unicast and multicast within a virtual AP domain. Additionally, Bluesocket's existing strength in role policy enforcement can be applied to unique encryption and authentication settings in each virtual AP.
A core strength of the BlueSecure Access Point is ease of use through Bluesocket's Zero-Config technology, which reduces the time and complexity to installation and maintenance, and reduces the likelihood of configuration errors. The BlueSecure Access Point 1500 allows administrators to simply plug in the AP and not worry about configuration, individual firmware updates and having to re-configure their existing wired infrastructure with wireless VLANs or special routing. BlueSecure Access Points will automatically locate a BlueSecure Controller, update their configuration/firmware and tunnel all their traffic over existing infrastructure without changes.
"Combining the wireless and embedded development expertise of RealNet with the WLAN security and management knowledge of Bluesocket has created a strong solution for the market," said Uma Gopalan, CEO of RealNet Solutions, Inc. "We are pleased to be a core component of the BlueSecure Wireless network and a part of Bluesocket's emergence as a complete WLAN solutions provider."
