Telecom Egypt Selects ACECOMM and Giza Systems for Provisioning Solution to Significantly Reduce Time-to-Market for New Subscribers and Services

Business Wire, Dec 6, 2005

GAITHERSBURG, Md. -- ACE*COMM Corporation (NASDAQ:ACEC), a global provider of network business intelligence and advanced operations support systems (OSS) solutions, and Giza Systems, a leading systems integrator in the Middle East, today announced a joint contract to provide a new subscriber connection and service activation solution to Telecom Egypt (TE). TE is the largest fixed line telecom provider in the Middle East with over 10 million subscribers.

ACE*COMM's Provisioning Gateway (APG) is a service activation gateway that can be employed with any billing, customer care or service management system to activate and manage subscribers and their services on a network. APG can support multiple service providers sharing the same network, and network interfaces can be adapted or created for any type of network element.

"TE needed a carrier-grade service provisioning platform with high-availability, fault tolerant architecture that guaranteed scalability - one that would work transparently with a wide variety of network elements in order to reduce the time required to provide services to their customers," said Mohamed Sedeek, the Head of the Telecom Unit at Giza Systems. "We have had a long-time partnership with ACE*COMM, successfully delivering data collection and mediation solutions to TE. We are therefore confident that we will jointly deliver on TE's stringent objectives and requirements, and we look forward to a successful and effective deployment of our strategic solution."

Any operator's customer care system can interact transparently with APG for network activation of subscribers. It provides initial provisioning of a subscriber in a network, and allows for the addition, deletion, or modification of services, like call waiting, voice mail, and more. It enables queries about a network subscriber profile, and assists in the configuration of any new service through self-care like IVR, or Web, or through the TE customer care agents.

"This newest project with Giza Systems for TE marks a long and successful partnership in the Middle Eastern region," said George T. Jimenez, CEO of ACE*COMM. "Our APG product features the kind of transaction transparency, performance, and network and platform independence that Tier 1 carriers demand. We are pleased to deepen our relationship and our commitment to both organizations."

APG can accommodate several service providers on a single network, and ensure equity, security, and confidentiality in a multi-service provider environment. APG provides an abstraction command and response language that's independent of the individual characteristics of each network element. The system will translate each stored procedure's commands into the language of each network element involved. This isolates and protects service providers from any network changes.
