The Nucleus BI ROI Scorecard rates vendor platforms by conducting in-depth analysis of customer deployments and measuring vendors' ability to provide positive ROI to customers within a reasonable time frame. The study ranked BusinessObjects XI Release 2 number one for adoption rates based on innovations that ease adoption for business users who are new to BI tools. The report emphasized the importance of BusinessObjects Intelligent Question(TM), a groundbreaking solution that allows anyone to intuitively ask business questions and receive the correct answers, without the need to build a query or know the underlying systems or data. The Nucleus BI ROI Scorecard also highlighted Business Objects' recent acquisition of Infommersion, a leading interactive visual analytics company. Based on this acquisition, Business Objects now offers Crystal Xcelsius(TM), which gives business users a unique way to easily turn ordinary Excel spreadsheets into interactive, dynamic presentations. Business Objects received high marks for providing these unique solutions that make BI easily accessible to a broader audience.
Customers polled by Nucleus Research also gave the Business Objects platform top scores for new capabilities that enable easier management of the entire BI platform. For example, the report found that both new and existing customers benefit from new tools that speed deployment and assist in the upgrade process. Additionally, enhancements to the platform that enable more centralized management of BI deployments have lowered customers' IT support requirements and reduced costs for new BI projects.
"Customers continue to embrace Business Objects as their vendor of choice for business intelligence based on our innovation and vision, and most of all, because we help them improve their bottom line," said Rene Bonvanie, chief marketing officer at Business Objects. "We are pleased that the Nucleus study confirms that BusinessObjects XI Release 2 leads the pack. Our success with BusinessObjects XI has been fantastic across the board. Customers and partners have rapidly adopted it and this study shows that our momentum continues with the latest version of our industry-leading BI solution."
"Business Objects has made solid improvements to its product line that has added to the business value of its offerings," said Kathy Quirk, research manager at Nucleus Research. "The company was the first among its competitors to reach the $1 billion in annual revenue mark, which shows not only the strength of the BI and analytics market, but also a very healthy license growth rate since its release of BusinessObjects XI. Nucleus anticipates that Business Objects' ranking will be stable over the coming year."
