NUVO Provides Managed Services for Leading Health Sciences Center, Helps Assure Health of Hospital System's IT infrastructure

OTTAWA -- NUVO Network Management Inc. (TSX VENTURE:NVO), a leading managed services provider for solutions that Maximize IT(R) availability and performance, has been contracted by its alliance partner, CCSI Technology Solutions Corp.- a subsidiary of CompuCom Systems, Inc. (CCSI CompuCom)-to provide managed services for one of Canada's largest teaching hospital centers.
The service will provide remote management and monitoring for the hospital system's wired and wireless networks in a five-year contract, extending and expanding services that have been provided by NUVO and CCSI CompuCom for this customer since 2002. NUVO monitors the health services center network, providing 24x7 remote management of the LAN, WAN and security infrastructure that supports the work of the organization's 10,000 health care employees. Services provided from NUVO's state-of-the-art operations center include port level management and reporting for the LAN, as well as performance reporting on the IT infrastructure. This contract has been expanded to include remote monitoring and performance management for the Cisco wireless network.
The health services organization comprises five hospitals and a cancer center for a 13,000-patient health care system. In a leading-edge initiative to improve the quality and effectiveness of its health care services, it is using wireless technology to provide more rapid access to comprehensive patient records, facilitate communication among health care providers, and simplify bookings of patient tests and hospital facilities.
