Business Wire, Dec 6, 2005
ALBANY, N.Y. -- The Wercs, Ltd., a global leader in material safety data sheet (MSDS) authoring software and the Danish Toxicology Centre (DTC) today announced a strategic relationship designed to offer a comprehensive global regulatory compliance solution aimed at global manufacturers. The new partnership will provide a streamline solution for REACH compliance.
Under the terms of the agreement, DTC will provide The Wercs with regulatory content and phrase modules in multiple European and Asian languages. This content will be integrated into The Wercs' comprehensive suite of authoring software, The WERCS(R). Specifically, DTC will provide the single set of regulations aimed at consolidating close to 40 EU directives as outlined in REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization, Restriction of Chemicals). The Wercs' strategy has been to focus on creating alliances with global regulatory content providers. With the addition of DTC, The WERCS software integrates with ChemAdvisor and CED.
"The alliance with DTC will provide The WERCS' users with a more global solution for authoring MSDSs and other hazard communication documents," said Lou DeSorbo, founder and president of The Wercs. "By creating an alliance with a leader in regulatory content, we can concentrate on what we do best, and that is to create functionality to automate the authoring, distributing and managing of hazard communication documents."
"As a European-based company, we have an outstanding reputation on the continent," said Lisbeth Valentin Hansen, director of DTC. "Our high-quality regulatory data and linguistic phrases coupled with The WERCS software will provide a true global solution for environmental, health and safety professionals."
