SplendidCRM Software Brings Open Source CRM to the Microsoft Environment
Business Wire, Dec 7, 2005
RALEIGH, N.C. -- SplendidCRM Software, Inc. has released the beta version of SplendidCRM 1.0, a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) application licensed in part under the "SugarCRM Public License 1.1.3".
"Open-source applications do not need to be synonymous with the LAMP stack (Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PHP)," said Paul Rony, SplendidCRM Software founder. SplendidCRM was built on the Microsoft technology stack (Windows, IIS, SQL Server, C#, and ASP.NET)
SplendidCRM was written in C# using the Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 and Microsoft SQL Server 2000. The target audiences are companies that need a simple yet powerful CRM, but want to take advantage of their existing Windows infrastructure. "According to a recent survey, sales of servers running Windows jumped 18% last quarter; it seems short-sighted not to target Windows directly", Mr. Rony noted.
This gives many more CRM users an open source alternative, without having to bring in an entirely new and unfamiliar computing environment. The current release version supports SQL Server 2000. When the final version of SplendidCRM is released, it will support SQL Server 2000, SQL Server 2005, MySQL 5, Oracle 9i and Oracle 10g.
"SplendidCRM will greatly simplify the integration with our existing software and it fits perfectly with our .NET platform development strategy," exclaimed Gavin Horne, Horne Software.
Licensing and Availability
The beta release of SplendidCRM 1.0 is available today, and the final release is expected in Q1 2006. Licensed versions range in price from $120 to $240 per user and include additional source code, patches, and minor upgrades.
