Fitch Rates Georgia Power Co.'s $250MM Issuance of Senior Notes 'A+'

NEW YORK -- Fitch Ratings has assigned an 'A ' rating to the Georgia Power Company's (GPC) issuance of $250 million of series Z 5.25% notes due Dec. 15, 2015. The notes are unsecured and rank equally with other senior unsecured obligations of GPC. The proceeds of the notes will be used to repay short term debt and for other general corporate purposes, including GPC's continuous construction program. The Rating Outlook of GPC is Stable.
