Cube Route Teams with Intermec to Boost Data Capture Functionality in the Field
Business Wire, Feb 1, 2005
TORONTO -- Combined Offering to Integrate Tracking and Field Data Capture with Visibility and Routing Service
Cube Route, a provider of on demand logistics services, today announced that it has been named an Honors Partner by Intermec Technologies Corp., a provider of supply chain information products, services and systems. Under the terms of the partnership agreement signed between the two companies, Cube Route will add support for Intermec's 700 series mobile computer to its on demand logistics service. This will enable organizations with delivery or field service fleets to leverage both the advanced visibility and routing capabilities of the Cube Route service and the data capture features facilitated by the Intermec device, such as electronic signature capture, Bluetooth GPS and package scanning.
"Our relationship with Intermec enables us to deliver the latest in mobile computing technology to field workers so organizations can differentiate their service and achieve even greater efficiencies across their delivery operations," said Jeff Murphy, VP of Operations at Cube Route. "Drivers out on the road will be able to capture more data and run multiple applications concurrently on the Intermec device, facilitating more effective and efficient operations and improving end customer service. Features such as electronic signature capture are effective and powerful tools in maintaining a chain of signature and executing proof of delivery."
For Cube Route and Intermec customers such as Arctic Glacier, a manufacturer and distributor of premium quality packaged ice products, the benefits of the relationship are significant. By adding support for the Intermec 700 series mobile computer to the Cube Route service, Arctic Glacier will be able to provide their field workers with a single device that can be used to manage enterprise wide distribution, route accounting, provide real time visibility, and capture accurate and timely data from the field.
"Cube Route's on demand logistics offering adds tremendous value to Intermec's technology and services," said Intermec Vice President Les Mesh. "Cube Route's ability to provide visibility into the delivery cycle and transmit data in real time is invaluable in driving operational efficiencies and cost savings for organizations with fleets of vehicles. With the added functionality intrinsic to Intermec's mobile technology, the benefits multiply."
Cube Route's on demand logistics service combines advanced tracking, planning and routing functionality with the simplicity of Web-based service delivery. It is offered on a pay-as-you-go basis, providing users with visibility into their delivery operations in real-time, at a fraction of the cost and complexity of traditional logistics software.
