SolArc, BearingPoint Present Airline Cost Management Seminars; Seminars in London, Miami and Singapore Showcase Leading Industry Solutions
Business Wire, Feb 1, 2005
HOUSTON -- Airlines around the world are dealing with issues that affect operations and profitability, such as rising fuel costs and market pressures. To help educate the industry on new ways to reduce costs, manage risk and increase profitability through strong cost management, SolArc, Inc., a leading provider of enterprise fuel supply and trade management solutions for the global energy industry, and BearingPoint Inc. (NYSE:BE), one of the world's largest business consulting and systems integration firms, are planning a series of seminars for airline executives.
The first seminar is February 17-18, 2005, at the Hilton London Paddington in London. Two other seminars are planned for 2005 - one, March 7-8, in Miami, Florida, at the Intercontinental Hotel and the other, March 23-24, in Singapore at the Shangri-La Hotel.
SolArc and BearingPoint collaborated earlier this year to offer a comprehensive fuels management solution for the aviation industry through the International Air Transport Association (IATA). The result, JetFuelWorks Enterprise, is an IATA-sponsored solution for fuel management, while IATA InvoiceWorks handles electronic invoicing and payables process management.
"Strong cost management is an essential strategy that several successful airlines have adopted to address challenges in the industry," said Dale St. Denis, vice president of solutions marketing for SolArc. "IATA InvoiceWorks and JetFuelWorks Enterprise provide the end-to-end solution to help airlines rapidly implement a cost management strategy."
"Cutthroat pricing competition and high Jet-A costs are critical issues keeping airline executives up at night," said James May, a managing director with BearingPoint. "By collaborating with SolArc and BearingPoint, airline executives now have an industry-leading platform to address these issues."
The seminar will present case studies on how other airlines have benefited from these airline industry solutions. The second day will be reserved for individual appointments for companies wishing to meet with SolArc and BearingPoint representatives. To register for the seminar, please contact Angela Wisdom at 1-918-732-7275 or awisdom@solarc.com.
