Business Wire, Feb 11, 2005
DURHAM, N.C. -- Motricity, the premier provider of mobile content and solutions, today announced the top ten bestselling fiction and nonfiction eBooks for the month of January from its eReader.com division. The company also recognized "Best of 2004" eBooks and continues to feature these award winners at eReader.com.
In February, eReader.com kicks off the month with the Super Game of Savings where teams of authors battle for victory and eBook sales. In the first week, the pros on the Thriller team include David Baldacci, Jan Burke, James Patterson, Patricia Cornwell and other favorites who battle authors from the Mystery, Detective and True Crime categories including Ann Rule, Michael Connolly, Jeffrey Deaver and Janet Evanovich. Customers win each week, as The Super Game of Savings continues throughout month, with a 20% discount off of everyday low prices on any of the 14,000 eBook titles.
Also during the month of February, eReader.com will feature specially priced bouquets of Valentine's Day eBooks including titles in contemporary fiction, historical fiction and relationships and sexuality. eReader.com will also honor great authors and titles in a month-long Black History Month with new releases such as "Jimi Hendrix" by Sharon Lawrence and "Dark Matter: Reading The Bones" by Sheree R.Thomas; as well as perennial bestsellers including "The Souls of Black Folks" by W.E.B. Du Bois and "Uncle Tom's Cabin" by Harriett Beecher Stowe.
The New Year ushered in new authors and new bestselling eBooks. In fiction, January's bestsellers included "Alien Infection" by Darrell Bain, a new romance from Liz Carlye "The Devil to Pay" and "Rift", a fast moving suspense by Richard Cox. Dan Brown retains a firm hold on four spots on the fiction top sellers and Michael Crichton returns in the #1 position with "State of Fear".
