IMlogic Announces First Secure IM Management Solution Featuring Real-Time Threat Protection Integrated with Global IM Threat Center
Business Wire, Feb 14, 2005
SAN FRANCISCO -- Partnership with Symantec Delivers "Best-of-Breed" Technologies from Trusted Industry Leaders
IMlogic, Inc., the global market leader for secure instant messaging management software, announced today at the RSA Conference, IM Manager 7.0, the next-generation of IMlogic's best-of-breed solution for instant messaging management, compliance and security. Integrated with IMlogic's Global Threat Center and supported by leaders in Internet security, instant messaging, and information lifecycle management, IM Manager 7.0 provides guaranteed IM policy enforcement for regulatory compliance, centralized security controls, and enhanced real-time communications for extending IM across the enterprise.
The launch of IM Manager 7.0 comes at a time when the increasing use of IM has created a serious security concern for corporate networks. According to The Radicati Group, more than 85 percent of all enterprises report using instant messaging for business. Yet, most IM usage is still unmonitored and unprotected, creating openings for blended threats, viruses, spam, and unknown breaches of corporate compliance and information security policy. Symantec cites in their recent Internet Security Threat Report, IM/P2P applications were used in 7 of top 10 Internet threats in 2004 with IM security threats growing at 100 percent every six months.
"Similar to email, the growth and maturity of instant messaging and real-time communications increasingly requires more efficient and effective controls for management, security and compliance," said Matt Cain, Senior Vice President at META Group, a leading provider of IT research advisory services. "Companies need to take the issues surrounding uncontrolled instant messaging seriously, and work with vendors that have the expertise required to help IT managers secure and manage the evolving landscape of Instant Messaging."
