Xiotech Announces Expanded PACS Support for Healthcare
Business Wire, Feb 14, 2005
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. -- Magnitude 3D Family of Storage Area Networks (SANs) Certified for use with PACS Solutions from Kodak and eMed, and with TeraMedica Healthcare Technololgy
Xiotech Corporation today announced expanded support for picture archiving communications systems (PACS). The company's Magnitude 3D(TM) family of storage area networks (SANs) is now certified for use with KODAK PACS System 5 and eMed Matrix. Magnitude 3D also adds support for TeraMedica's breakthrough Evercore Clinical Information Archive, bridging and managing all interoperability between the PACS world and the Electronic Medical Record arena. The Magnitude 3D family is also currently certified with Agfa IMPAX, A4, ACUO, ALI-McKesson and Epic. Xiotech(R) is demonstrating its solutions for the healthcare industry at the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) annual conference in booth # 6747 at the Dallas Convention Center from February 13th - 17th.
Healthcare organizations are struggling with the conflicting trends of tighter budgets and exponential data growth fueled by PACS and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). Magnitude 3D eases these burdens by integrating simplicity of management, the ability to easily increase storage capacity without downtime, enterprise-class resilience and the industry's lowest total cost of ownership. By deploying Magnitude 3D for primary storage and long term tiered storage for PACS systems, healthcare organizations can easily manage rapid data growth without needing expensive professional services or storage specialists to manage the SAN.
"The enhanced features of Magnitude 3D make it ideal for use with our PACs system," said Bill Bailey, enterprise architect, ProHealth Care Inc. "More importantly, Xiotech is customer-service oriented and continues to work with us to provide us with the solutions we need to respond to our rapidly growing requirements."
Xiotech is a leading provider of storage solutions for healthcare organizations with more than 140 hospitals, medicals schools, clinics and health services organizations using the company's products. In addition to its variety of PACS certifications, Magnitude 3D is certified with: Intersystems-Cache, Misys PMR/EMR, Misys Financials, Siemens Laboratory, Siemens Pharmacy and Siemens Radiology.
"For more than nine years we have delivered storage solutions that are tailored to the unique needs of healthcare organizations," said Mike Stolz, Xiotech executive vice president of marketing. "Magnitude 3D reduces the complexity associated with SANs and lets hospitals, clinics and other organizations focus on the business of saving lives."
