Legendary Editor of National Lampoon's 'Pledge This', starring Paris Hilton, Returns To Comic Roots with Street Alien Pictures / Ckrush Entertainment Production
Business Wire, Feb 14, 2005
NEW YORK -- Legendary comedy editor/producer George Folsey, Jr. has one of the most storied resumes in modern film comedy. Currently editing National Lampoon's "Pledge This", starring Paris Hilton, Folsey, Jr. returns to the National Lampoon brand for the first time since editing the all- time comedy classic, National Lampoon's "Animal House" (1978). "Animal House" which starred John Belushi and "Pledge This" which stars Paris Hilton both take place on campus. "Animal House" focuses on fraternity life, while "Pledge This" focuses on sorority life.
In addition to the two National Lampoon titles, Folsey has edited such smash comedy hits as "Cheaper By The Dozen", starring Steve Martin (2003), "Coming To America", starring Eddie Murphy (1988) and "The Blues Brothers", starring John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd (1980). Folsey, Jr.'s father, cinematographer George J. Folsey, received 13 Oscar nominations and the first Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Society of Cinematographers (1988). Folsey, Jr.'s son Ryan Folsey, is himself an accomplished editor and worked on National Lampoon's "Van Wilder" (2002). Ryan Folsey is currently working with his father on National Lampoon's "Pledge This".
Comments "Pledge This" producer Juan Carlos Zapata: "It is truly a privilege to be working with George Folsey, Jr. and Ryan Folsey. The fact that 'Pledge This' returns George to the National Lampoon brand for the first time since 'Animal House' is a special treat. We feel great about 'Pledge This' and one of the reasons we do is the quality of the people involved in the production. As far as editing goes, George Folsey is the gold standard for comedy." National Lampoon's "Pledge This" is being produced by Street Alien Pictures and Ckrush Entertainment, Inc.
