Business Wire, Feb 17, 2005

NORTHFIELDS, Ill. -- Digital Check Corporation (www.digitalcheck.com) announced today that NetDeposit, Inc. (www.net-deposit.com) will resell the full range of TellerScan(R) compact desktop check scanners, and will integrate the TellerScan compact desktop check scanners with all of NetDeposit's NetCapture(TM) family of products.

NetDeposit's Franchise Building Technology Platform allows checks to be captured at remote locations and sent electronically to the financial institution for clearing. NetDeposit's NetCapture family of products enables corporate customers, bank branches, correspondent banks and cash vaults to electronically capture checks remotely. The company's solutions not only capture the check image and MICR information, but also assure the quality of the image and MICR.

"Digital Check is a leader in the desktop scanning market and has a known reputation for providing quality products," said Danne L. Buchanan, CEO at NetDeposit. "This is extremely important in a remote capture environment where our bank customers will support hundreds and maybe thousands of remote hardware devices."

Digital Check's TellerScans are used in a wide variety of payment processes around the globe and are the scanner of choice in Singapore's Check Truncation System, the world's first end-to-end check image exchange. The TellerScans are also used in payment systems where the check image is captured and then converted to a direct debit, for example under NACHA's ACH rules in the USA.

"We are very pleased that NetDeposit has decided to integrate Digital Check's TellerScans with their software," said John Gainer, Executive vice-president of sales and marketing at Digital Check. "Our US-built scanners are produced with the high quality required to support NetDeposit's solutions. NetDeposit's unique position in the market to assist their customers in remotely capturing checks makes their solutions particularly germane to today's fast changing payments environment. The TellerScans, with the new Check 21 compliant API, capture clear legible images to facilitate the electronic processing of checks in the new C21 Marketplace."

How to Win at Office Politics

Like it or not, every workplace is a political environment. But operating effectively within it doesn’t have to mean sucking up, lying, or slinging dirt. In its purest form, office politics is simply about getting from here to there: securing a promotion, seeing an idea come to fruition, or gaining support to make an organizational change. Playing the game well is about defending your position, earning respect, exchanging favors, and keeping your sanity amid the chaos. To get started, you need to know what you really want from work, then orient your political moves toward those goals. It all starts with strong relationships and helping others; those people in return make up the support system that helps you realize your goals. Here’s how it’s done.
