Call for Entries!! Local Christian Music Hopefuls Vie for The StarFish Award; Winner to Perform at FISH FEST, Saturday April 16 at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater

ANAHEIM, Calif. -- 95.9 KFSH-FM The Fish(R) and sister station 99.5 KKLA-FM are searching for the next star of contemporary Christian music...and the winner will have the opportunity to appear in concert with premier artists Michael W. Smith, Audio Adrenaline, Toby Mac, Selah, Kutless, Watermark, By The Tree and Hawk Nelson on the Main Stage at the Fourth annual FISH FEST, Saturday, April 16 at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater, 8808 Irvine Center Drive in Irvine, CA.
The StarFish Award, sponsored by New Life Funding, will be voted on by music professionals as well as 95.9 KFSH-FM and 99.5 KKLA-FM listeners. This marks the third year that The StarFish Awards have been a part of FISH FEST, a day-long event featuring music on two stages, family-friendly attractions, sponsor booths and exhibits.
Contestants are invited to submit one song on CD. Submissions will be accepted through March 24, 2005. The Salem Los Angeles music team -- Bob Shaw, 95.9 KFSH-FM Music Director; Jim Governale, weekend host; Big Wave Dave, afternoons on 95.9 KFSH-FM and Chuck Tyler, Salem Los Angeles Program Director -- will select weekly finalists that will air Fridays at 7:25 a.m. on 95.9 KFSH-FM's "Fresh Fish Friday," from March 4 through April 1, 2005. Listeners will be invited to vote for their favorite StarFish song on-line on the 95.9 KFSH-FM website (www.thefish959.com) or on the 99.5 KKLA-FM website (www.kkla.com) from April 1 - 7, 2005. Results will be tabulated and announced on both stations on Friday, April 8, 2005 and will be posted on both websites. The grand prizewinner will appear on the Main Stage at FISH FEST, and his or her CD will be submitted for review and professional critique by independent label, INO Records.
