OpenService Expands European Operations with New London Office; Increasing Global Demand for Real-Time Security Information Management Drives International Growth
Business Wire, Feb 22, 2005
WESTBOROUGH, Mass. -- OpenService(TM), Inc. (Open), a leader in real-time security information management (SIM) software, announced today that it has established a significant new presence in Europe with the opening of a new sales and customer service office in London, U.K. Open cited rising global demand for real-time security information management (SIM) software and an influx of new customers in the U.K., France, Germany, Italy, Belgium, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Czech Republic and Luxembourg as drivers for the Company's international expansion.
"IT security compliance and the growing threat of worms, viruses and hacker attacks - real-time threats that do not respect international borders - are among the most pressing issues that global organizations face today," said Ray Cavanagh, Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales at Open. "In addition, our European customers share the same security concerns of their U.S. counterparts over IT security and compliance requirements. For instance, European corporations must meet the ISO 17799 compliance standard, the most widely recognized security standard in Europe involving a very comprehensive set of controls, which encourage best practices in information security."
Open's new office will enable the company to better service and grow the European market. To strengthen its move into Europe, Open has appointed Rafael Samper as director of European sales. Samper is responsible for servicing Open's existing European customers, as well as meeting the increasing demand for Open's SIM solutions throughout the continent.
Like their US counterparts, Open's international customers rely upon Security Threat Manager (STM), a SIM application that collects, analyzes, and correlates security event data, in real-time, enterprise-wide. STM improves corporate security, network availability, and security information management reporting, the key factors in business continuity, compliance and success in today's competitive market. For standards and legislation such as Sarbanes-Oxley, HIPAA, FISMA, ISO 17799 and Basel-2 compliance, STM delivers centralized management of risks, vulnerabilities, real-time threat identification and post-attack forensics.
Typically deploying in days, not months, STM increases IT security effectiveness, freeing resources for proactive risk reduction projects, and reducing the costs of protecting corporate information and securing 24x7 customer privacy. For more information about STM or Open's operations in Europe, please contact Rafael Samper on 44 (0)1753 650 917.
