Nelson Dong Elected Vice President of Washington State China Relations Council

SEATTLE -- The international law firm of Dorsey & Whitney LLP announced today that Nelson Dong of its Seattle office has been elected a Vice President of the Washington State China Relations Council (WSCRC), the largest China-related trade promotion group in the Pacific Northwest, which is based in Seattle. Professor David Bachman of the University of Washington's Jackson School of International Studies will be the group's 2005 President. Mr. Dong has previously served as a member of the WSCRC Board of Directors and as a member of its Executive Committee.

The WSCRC performs a critical role to link together many companies in the Pacific Northwest with their counterparts and with the government in China. Mr. Dong is a co-chair of Dorsey's Asian Law practice group and an internationally recognized technology business attorney. He frequently speaks with many trade and business groups such as the World Trade Club, Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International, SEMICON and Women in International Trade across the United States and in China about the growing business opportunities for investment and manufacturing in China and elsewhere in Asia. Aside from his direct practice experience spanning more than 20 years of work for clients in China and other Asian countries, Mr. Dong is also a director of the Committee of 100, a New York-based nonprofit organization that promotes better U.S.-China relations.
Mr. Dong holds a J.D. from Yale Law School and an A.B. from Stanford University, where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa.
