Evan Grayer Joins The DIRECTV Group as Vice President, Broadband

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. -- The DIRECTV Group, Inc. (NYSE:DTV) today announced that Evan R. Grayer has been named Vice President, Broadband. In this new position, Grayer, who joined The DIRECTV Group from Time Warner Cable, is based in New York.

"Evan brings to DIRECTV a vast array of experience in multichannel television, high-speed Internet, and wireless services," said Chase Carey, president and CEO of The DIRECTV Group. "His in-depth knowledge of the broadband market will undoubtedly serve DIRECTV well as we address the role broadband will play in our business going forward. DIRECTV operates in a highly competitive environment and I am confident that Evan will be a valuable asset as we determine our long-term broadband strategy."

Grayer will be responsible for evaluating broadband options for DIRECTV and executing on the strategy going forward.

Grayer previously held business development roles at Time Warner, both for the Time Warner Cable division in Stamford, Conn. and America Online in Dulles, Va.
