Business Wire, Jan 11, 2005
LOS ANGELES -- Snaidero, Italy's leading manufacturer of high-quality kitchen cabinetry, has been awarded two prestigious design honors for its innovative Skyline model. The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design presented Snaidero with a 2004 GOOD DESIGN(TM) Award, recognizing Skyline for its ingenuity in design and adaptability. Kitchen and Bath Business magazine also presented Snaidero with the 2004 Gold Product Innovator Award for the same kitchen model.
"This is an incredible achievement for Snaidero, and we are proud to be honored by two top industry associations for excellence in product innovation," said Dario Snaidero, CEO and President of Snaidero USA. "Skyline represents our visions for the future, combining extreme functionality with beautiful contemporary design to craft a kitchen that is truly customizable to the needs of each individual."
The Skyline kitchen, designed by Lucci and Orlandini, incorporates adaptations for people with disabilities, fusing together artistic vision with functionality. The highly original and stylistic kitchen centers on an extremely flexible system that can be adapted to a wide range of users, including people who are physically limited. This innovative, yet uncomplicated, model combines Snaidero's half-century of kitchen manufacturing experience with Lucci and Orlandini's unique style to meet the needs of every homeowner.
Founded in 1950, the Chicago Athenaeum's GOOD DESIGN is the world's oldest and most celebrated awards program that honors designers and manufacturers for advancing product conception and innovation. Products are judged by an international jury of design professionals who carefully review criteria based on innovation, form, materials, construction, concept, function and utility. The 2004 award marks Snaidero's fifth GOOD DESIGN Award since 1996.
The Kitchen and Bath Business Product Innovator Awards honor manufacturers for superior product innovation and ground breaking ideas in kitchen and bath design. The 2004 awards were reviewed and judged by a panel of industry experts, including Florence Perchuk, CKD; John Buscarello, ASID and Roderick N. Shade.
