Vault Releases New Employee Surveys on Lockheed Martin
Business Wire, Jan 12, 2005
NEW YORK -- New York research firm Vault (web site at Vault.com) has just published new employee surveys on aerospace and defense giant Lockheed Martin Corp. (NYSE: LMT) - providing "insider" information on corporate culture, compensation and hiring practices at the company.

Vault's employee surveys are designed to give investors and jobseekers insight into Lockheed Martin - and for job seekers, the edge in this tough recruiting climate.
Says a senior project engineering manager, "Growth over the last four years (in Space Systems) has been excellent. Prospects look good to better. Lockheed Martin as a corporation is doing even better with the Fort Worth win of JSF (F-35) and production of F-22."
As to corporate culture, a former human resources specialist writes, "It is a laid back culture with hard working employees. Main customer is the Department of Defense, so employees are more regulated. The government closely looks at everything from hours worked on a contract to diversity initiatives."
A senior systems engineer adds, "Employment suffered tremendously at the height of the dot-coms, management had to alter their expectations (salary and otherwise) and behavior to try to keep people. Since the pendulum has swung back, many have hired back, the management tone has also shifted back to a more rigid structure. Diversity - the company is trying, but it's still a white male environment, that hasn't changed much as you go higher in the ranks."
