EnvoyWorldWide Awarded Patent for Application Program Interface for Message Routing and Management System

BEDFORD, Mass. -- EnvoyWorldWide(R), announced today that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has awarded the company patent number 6,842,772 titled, "Application Program Interface for Message Routing and Management System." The patent, for technology built by EnvoyWorldWide early in 2000, has been issued for the Company's application programming interface (API) which facilitates the transmission of messages composed on one or more input devices to multiple recipients by means of multiple communications devices, including conventional or wireless telephone, facsimile transmission, pager, or email.

The API mediates between enterprise applications requesting messaging functions and messaging servers that actually implement these functions. The API is capable of automating and processing high-volume requests for message routing, status information, as well as various other interactive functions.
