VSoft and Unisys Expand Relationship with Image Quality Solution to Streamline Check Image Exchange; Solution Verifies Check Images, Meets Exchange Standards, Reduces Returns

ATLANTA -- VSoft Corporation, a global information and technology provider of financial solutions, announced today a new Check 21 image quality solution, powered by VSoft's Genesis Image Quality Manager and Unisys' Image Usability Analysis software. The VSoft and Unisys image software will be beta tested at Farmers National Bank, an independent community bank with 16 offices located in Canfield, Ohio.

VSoft's Genesis Image Quality Manager is built on the Unisys Windows XP-based software. The solution examines twelve important elements of the check image, such as signature presence, courtesy amount, MICR codeline, and date. It also ensures that images meet quality thresholds defined by the American National Standards Institute as part of the Check 21 definition for image exchange.

Genesis Image Quality Manager views the "image suspects" flagged by the Unisys software, and permits an operator at a PC workstation to request an immediate recapture of images that have a high probability of returns because of image quality. Banks using Genesis Image Quality Manager can identify images from items that are skewed, folded, or torn before they are exchanged with correspondent banks, reducing the risk and the high cost of recapturing checks after they clear.
