DataVault Joins the CompTIA CDIA+ Advisory Committee

Business Wire, Jan 18, 2005

OAKBROOK TERRACE, Ill. -- DataVault, Inc., a leading document imaging training and consulting business, is the newest member of the CompTIA CDIA (TM) certification advisory committee.

"Our goal is to have the CompTIA CDIA certification exam accepted by employers and career minded professionals as an undeniable validation of document management expertise," said Byron B. Aulick, president, DataVault. "My reason for joining the advisory committee is to do what I can to oversee the continued integrity, development, and acceptance of the exam."

The CompTIA CDIA certification is an internationally-recognized credential acknowledging competency and professionalism in the document management/document imaging industry. A CompTIA CDIA certified individual is a trained professional who possesses the requisite level of knowledge and expertise to successfully plan, specify, and design solutions for the electronic capture, storage, retrieval, and manipulation of vital documents.

DataVault, Inc., Stafford Springs, Connecticut, offers training regimens that cover electronic document management systems (EDMS) fundamentals, CDIA exam preparation, EDMS needs assessment, and scanning service bureau setup. A milestone for DataVault was expanding its services in 1999 to include WebVault, a means of digital storage and secure access to documents via the Internet from anywhere in the world.

DataVault courseware features the CompTIA Authorized Quality Curriculum (CAQC) trust mark. DataVault is also a CompTIA Learning Alliance (CLA) partner. "CLA partnership demonstrates our commitment to using global industry-wide quality standards and certified instructors," Aulick said.

Aulick has been involved with document imaging and management for more than 20 years. He earned a CompTIA CDIA certification in 1997. In 2001, he was a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the CDIA exam updating process. The following year, he served as the team leader for the SMEs who evaluated the revised CDIA exam prior to its launch.

"The active committee participation of leading companies and industry experts such as Byron Aulick of DataVault are vitally important to the value certification offers employers and professionals," said Neill Hopkins, vice president of Skills Development, CompTIA. "Committee representatives bring critically important insights and guidance regarding what is needed to ensure a highly skilled and productive workforce now and well into the future."
