Business Wire, Jan 19, 2005

PARK CITY, Utah -- Philips Electronics is rolling out the red carpet at this year's Village at the Lift by sponsoring premiere screenings and festivities for "The Upside of Anger" on Saturday, January 22 and "The Chumscrubber" on Tuesday, January 25. During the day, the Lift is home to leisure places and activities including Philips' Welcome Lounge, Yahoo Cafe and Fred Segal Beauty Salon and Spa. Each night, the Lift becomes an oasis for the hottest celebrity events and parties. From Philips Lighting and Sonicare IntelliClean power toothbrushes to 42" Flatscreen TVs with Ambilight(TM) technology and Senseo(R) coffee makers, Philips will be integrating its easy-to-use yet technologically advanced products throughout the entire Lift.

"By combining our presence at the Lift with sponsoring the premiere activities for "The Upside of Anger" and "The Chumbscrubber," we are able to highlight our latest innovations and clearly illustrate how technology can be advanced and simple to use at the same time," said Terry Fassburg, senior vice president of brand communications. "The post-premiere party will showcase Philips' 42" Ambilight(TM) television which is a perfect example of our technology that is designed around consumers' needs. More than 20 of the sets will be integrated into the party and allow attendees to experience Philips' innovations first hand."

"The Upside of Anger" stars Joan Allen and Kevin Costner in a film described as a modern melodrama written and directed by Mike Binder. Joan Allen portrays an alcoholic upper-class Michigan woman whose daughters help her cope with a new suitor and other dilemmas after her husband disappears. "The Chumscrubber" features Jamie Bell, Ralph Fiennes, Rita Wilson and Glenn Close and is a dark, satiric story about life crumbling in the midst of a seemingly idyllic suburbia.
