Business Wire, Jan 21, 2005

TORONTO -- The Medipattern Corporation ("Medipattern") a leading developer of Computer Aided Detection (CAD) Software for the medical imaging market, today announced that it has received US$400,000 from its distribution partner, Cedara Software ("Cedara") (NASDAQ:CDSW/TSX:CDE), for pre-purchased licenses of its Breast Ultrasound CAD software, B-CAD.

Medipattern is using Cedara's extensive reach into the medical imaging market to maximize the opportunity for B-CAD, and has previously entered into a long-term agreement with Cedara to be its exclusive global sales channel for B-CAD.

Cedara launched B-CAD during the Radiological Society of North America 90th Scientific Assembly and Annual Meeting (RSNA). "We received a great response" stated Chris Barlow, Cedara's Director of Business Development, "and we are now working hard to follow-up leads and market B-CAD through our various channels in Europe, North America, and with our Japanese distributor, Toyo Corporation."

"In pre-purchasing licenses Cedara has shown its commitment and confidence in Medipattern and B-CAD. I am pleased with the growing B-CAD marketing momentum - especially the focus given to Japan - a key market for B-CAD," stated Mr. Jeff Collins, CEO of Medipattern, "we look forward to working with Cedara and Toyo in this important market."

"The response B-CAD received at RSNA was tremendous and we are looking forward to working with our distributors and channels to make B-CAD a great success," said Abe Schwartz, Cedara's President and CEO.
