Newmerix's Latest Release of Automate!Test Reduces Test Script Maintenance; The `Reduced TCO' Feature Series for Automate!Test Will Expedite PeopleSoft - Oracle Migrations

SUPERIOR, Colo. -- Newmerix Corp, a provider of application quality and change management software for packaged applications, today announced the latest release of its Automate!Test functional testing product, which introduces advanced change management capabilities into automated script maintenance to significantly reduce the time and effort required for testing. This enhancement is the latest in the company's "Reduced TCO" Series of features designed to shrink the total cost of ownership for both PeopleSoft applications and automated testing tools.

"The latest release of Automate!Test will allow PeopleSoft customers to reduce the most time-consuming activity of automated testing -- updating and maintaining test scripts," said Niel Robertson, chief technology officer of Newmerix. "The ability to see exactly what has changed in the target environment, and judge the impact of those changes on both PeopleSoft and the automated test scripts, will save companies money on both their PeopleSoft implementations and their automated testing programs."

The Test Maintenance feature in Automate!Test uses Newmerix's patent-pending technology to allow customers to "synchronize" a test suite against the PeopleSoft metadata. Synchronization creates a file that identifies all the PeopleSoft metadata objects and object attributes that have been touched, either directly or indirectly, by the test scripts. When a change is made to the PeopleSoft environment, Automate!Test uses an easy user interface called the PeopleSoft Navigator to clearly show users how the change affects test scripts.

"The immediate application for this technology is seen in the Oracle-PeopleSoft acquisition," said Mr. Robertson. "Oracle will be offering incentives for moving to the proposed next generation product, PeopleSoft 9, but this will involve a tremendous amount of change, and therefore risk, for existing PeopleSoft customers. Automate!Test would allow them to not only re-use all their current test scripts, but have visibility into exactly what impact the Oracle migration path will have on their business."

Newmerix will be releasing a new version of Automate!Test in 2005 that supports the Oracle packaged application.
