SafeNet Appoints Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales; Former BMC Software and IBM Executive Appointed to Lead Expanded Sales Organization

BALTIMORE -- SafeNet (NASDAQ: SFNT), setting the standard for information security, today announced the appointment of Steve Lesem as Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales, to lead the global sales force.
In this newly created position, Mr. Lesem's responsibilities include delivering the company's overall revenue and senior sales leadership across all business lines globally. He will also interface with the business unit product and marketing groups to ensure all SafeNet products are represented in the marketplace. Mr. Lesem will be reporting to Carole Argo, President and COO.

Mr. Lesem brings more than 20 years of experience in both sales and marketing in large sales organizations. His last position was Vice President, Asia Pacific. In this role, he was responsible for channel sales and China business development, along with various business unit responsibilities related to the Asia Pacific market for BMC. He previously served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for BMC's Security Business Unit. Prior to BMC, Mr. Lesem held several important sales and marketing positions at IBM including General Manager, PC Server Sales and Marketing for North America.
