CardScan, Inc. is New Name for Corex Technologies; New Name Synonymous with Brand's Quality and Productivity Gains
Business Wire, Jan 4, 2005
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Corex Technologies Corporation announced that it has changed its name to CardScan(R), Inc. to leverage the success of its product, CardScan, and its reputation, to its entire organization as well as to its family of products and associated services.
"The CardScan name has always been synonymous with high quality, easy-to-use, technically superb products," said Peter J. Weyman, president of the company. "But this also permeates all other aspects of our business. By renaming the company, we are better positioned to take advantage of CardScan's success and brand recognition in the marketplace. It speaks to our core business and complements our movement into related products and activities," he said.
Corex Technologies was founded in 1993. The company is best known for its CardScan Executive business card scanner - a small device that fits in the palm of your hand, weighs less than half a pound and inputs up to 40 business cards per minute into a user's database without typing. Once input, data can then be easily synchronized to Palm handhelds, Pocket PCs, smart phones and other devices as well as backed up to a secure internet server. The company also offers an automatic update service.
CardScan is the best-selling scanner in the market, according to The NPD Group accounting for over 80 percent market share.
Along with the name change, CardScan recently updated its corporate identity with a new website found at www.cardscan.com. Effective immediately, all future business activity will be undertaken using the new name.
