Dogeared Jewels & Gifts Announces Year End Results; Designer Line Logs 26% Growth in 2004
Business Wire, Jan 4, 2005
LOS ANGELES -- Dogeared Jewels & Gifts announced today that it is celebrating a record-breaking year. Fiscal year 2004 earnings are up dramatically -- 26% -- surpassing all projections and goals. Dogeared is a best selling brand that is unique in message, spirituality and comfort. Handcrafted in Venice, Calif., these jewels and gifts express the company mantra of "...putting positive energy into the world everyday."
Dogeared Jewels & Gifts attributes this growth to a combination of factors: the new products launched this year along with new and established retail partners, including Dillards, Sundance, Nordstrom, Fred Segal, Red Envelope and Intuition.
"We work with wonderful retailers who understand Dogeared's message and how it connects with their customers," stated designer and founder Marcia Maizel-Clarke. "They do an excellent job of selecting items that appeal to their customer segments, and they move product. These relationships are vital to our company's success."
Dogeared Jewels & Gifts is comprised of four product lines: Words, Wishes & Jewels, Gifts, and Trends. While all four lines participated in the company's 26% growth, the overall best seller was the Make a Wish line of carded jewels, hand cast sterling silver charms strung on a silk thread. Each card bears a message such as, "Make A Wish...and put on this necklace...when your necklace wears off...your wish should come true...enjoy, trust, believe."
"This line is about giving to people you care about, and about receiving energy from the universe," explained Maizel-Clarke. "This is not about flaunting your success, but about sharing wishes and dreams with people you love. Based on the powerful responses we receive from our customers, we know why these products are successful and we are looking forward to another year that will be marked by more innovation and more magic."
About Dogeared Jewels & Gifts
When designer Marcia Maizel-Clarke recognized the need for jewelry that speaks, she founded Dogeared Jewels & Gifts in 1991 and created the original word jewelry and charms. The response to these word jewels and the success of the Make A Wish series of silk thread necklaces and anklets gave birth to a family of products that capture the magic of words, symbols, wishes and dreams. Her unique, custom cast jewels are regularly featured in fashion, lifestyle and celebrity publications, as well as on such hit television shows as "The O.C.," "Will & Grace" and "Six Feet Under." Dogeared Jewels & Gifts are sold by trendsetting retailers around the world, including Fred Segal, Kitson, Harrods of London, Intuition, and Red Envelope. All Dogeared products are handcrafted in Venice, Calif. For more information, please contact beth@dogearedjewelry.com.
